Job Description
  1. Work on either 1st or 2nd shift.
  2. Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines containing several cutting heads, control surfaces, or other attachments (e.g., inkjet and mailing devices, case making & decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines).
  3. May set up automatic bindery machines with multiple functions and station capabilities (power paper cutters, power collators and gatherers, power folders, power speed binders) which can be combined with other equipment to produce finished products like books, catalogs, manuals, or magazines.
  4. Inspect equipment regularly for safety issues.
  5. Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) that contain multiple process stations for functions such as vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and stacking completed products.
  6. Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
  7. Supervise and direct the production crew.
  8. Monitor quality, output, and productivity levels.
Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of different paper weights, sizes, kinds, and colors to identify paper conditions and make necessary adjustments.
  2. Basic mathematical skills (decimals, metric units) to understand dimensional requirements and make adjustments.
  3. Ability to use standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
  4. Skill in adjusting powered machines using hand tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, and knives.
  5. Ability to read and interpret work instructions to ensure proper machine operation and quality.
  6. Understanding of operating procedures for bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and binding/gluing machines.
  7. Knowledge of the setup, adjustment, and operation of equipment for folding, collating, and cutting printed materials.
Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the specified location is $16.16 - $22.66/hour. Actual pay may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance, tuition assistance, maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts. Overtime, shift differentials, call-in, and standby pay may also be applicable.
