Location Description

The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility is 1,120,845 square feet and home to about 470 team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits and 9Lives. This location has a cannery that produces wet dog food and an on-site Distribution Center. Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, a landmark Town Park with many recreational activities, and hosts one of the largest and longest-running fairs in the country. Responsibilities

$20.00/hr starting rate until unionized after 120 days. Pay rate then moves to $26.08/hr.

This position is responsible for operating the dry packaging line safely and efficiently, ensuring quality standards are maintained while achieving efficient line operation and schedule adherence.

It is the responsibility of each employee to perform their work safely, protecting their own safety and that of others, and to participate in the company’s safety and health programs.

This is a 12-hour rotational night shift role from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, every other weekend required.

• Operate all bagging machines, scales, sealers, weight checkers, checkers, metal detectors, EDL bundlers, pallet wrappers, and palletizers/cappers.
• Understand the function and operation of all packaging lines in the area, including the product delivery system.
• Operate the line safely and efficiently to maintain quality standards and schedule adherence.
• Assist in troubleshooting operational deficiencies with bagger, sealing, bundler, and palletizing equipment.
• Provide high-quality finished goods.
• Follow all SOP, QA, safety, and sanitation procedures. Review and understand JSA’s for the area.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Enter quality data, operating data, and machine performance notes accurately into computer files and reports.
• Monitor, document, and collect samples to meet quality checks.
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Stand for prolonged periods.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. using proper techniques.
• Maintain good communication skills.
• Adhere to all safety, cGMP, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Keep the work area clean and be able to clean packaging equipment.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Manually sequence the palletizer when relieving jams.
• Operate stretch wrap machines and apply pallet caps.
• Handle wooden pallets.
• Notify leads and maintenance of breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with all quality and GMP standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
