Job summary

Danfoss Ames, IA is hiring a Production Operations Technician for the 1st shift (6:00 am–2:00 pm, Mon–Fri) to coordinate parts and perform assembly, testing, painting, packaging and shipping tasks. On-site role focused on maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency across the production process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Experience on the M46 or S90 pump line; test stand experience highly preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing or assembly equipment.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions and maintain production flow.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to rotate between multiple stations and learn new tasks quickly.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production lines and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and help resolve basic equipment issues to reduce downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machines.
• Inspect products to ensure quality standards.
• Identify and report equipment problems, production issues, or quality concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist with training new operators on equipment and safety.
• Rotate through stations within the assembly cell as needed.
• Work overtime to support production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
