Job summary

Danfoss is seeking a Process Technician (Assembly Team) for our Ames, Iowa location. You will oversee assembly in cells from setup to testing, troubleshoot equipment, and support process changes. You will work closely with Process Engineers, Maintenance, and Controls to ensure quality and safety on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes TPM/SMED, problem solving, and implementing Poka-Yokes and manufacturing controls. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read schematics are essential.

Qualifications

• AA degree or technical school with 6 months related experience on Danfoss products.
• Preference for a 4-year degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mfg. Engineering or ME/AgE.
• Familiarity with TPM and SMED techniques; strong mechanical and process understanding.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment used in the assembly process to build pumps, motors, and components.
• Provide line support for the assembly cell and assist with safety and process quality issues.
• Troubleshoot daily issues and reduce recurrence using SOPs, training, and visual aids.
• Assist in implementing process changes and problem solving on the shop floor.
• Assist in proving out new processes and process changes by gathering data and observations.
• Help design and implement manufacturing controls such as Poka-Yokes on assembly lines.
• Lead or assist on tactical implementation projects; collaborate with Process Engineers and maintenance teams.
• Interact with all levels of the organization from shop floor to management.
