Job summary

Danfoss is seeking a Production Operations Technician in Ames, IA, to coordinate parts and perform assembling, testing, painting, packaging, and shipping of products. The role involves operating production equipment, setting up machinery, conducting tests, and ensuring quality and safety across the production process.

This 1st shift position runs 6:00 am–2:00 pm, Monday–Friday, and requires following standard work instructions to maintain efficient production lines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience on the M46 or S90 pump line; test stand experience is highly preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing or assembly equipment.
  • Ability to follow standardized work instructions and maintain consistent production flow.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to rotate between multiple stations and learn new tasks quickly.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and meeting production expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and help resolve basic equipment issues to reduce downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machines.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Assist in identifying and reporting equipment problems, production issues, or quality concerns.
  • Follow all safety procedures and help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist with training new operators on equipment and safety.
  • Rotate through different stations within the assembly cell as needed.
  • Work overtime when required to support production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
