Job summary

nVent is seeking a Production Lead in Solon, Ohio to ensure uninterrupted production flow and provide on-the-job training. You will be the first point of contact for the area, guiding staff, solving problems, and coordinating with support resources to meet department goals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in production/warehouse, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Safety and teamwork are essential in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3–5 years in production and/or warehouse work preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate clearly.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems used in production.
• Knowledge of safety policies and processes to promote compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide backup to the Supervisor for all assigned areas.
• Identify and escalate concerns within the department to the Supervisor.
• Attend required training sessions and participate in skills development.
• Serve as primary point of contact for area team members.
• Assist in interviewing and onboarding new associates to the department.
• Guide and train staff to meet production goals and improve skills.
• Monitor attendance and manage shift start-up, hand-off, and breaks.
• Conduct first piece inspections and ensure accurate paperwork.
• Coordinate with resources to maintain uninterrupted production flow.
• Support production by running or setting up equipment as needed.
• Assist with staffing adjustments in response to material, machine, or labor changes.
• Lead Lean activities (MDI, 5S, Kaizen) to drive improvements.
• Operate equipment such as CRTs and forklifts as required.
• Uphold safety and medical processes in case of injuries and report hazards.
