Job summary

nVent is seeking a production lead to guide daily operations, uphold safety and quality, and ensure on-time delivery. You will train new hires and backfill for team members while advancing Lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

You will mentor operators on standard work, monitor performance, and maintain accurate documentation while communicating with the production supervisor and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of production work experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
• Expertise in the operations of the assigned production process.
• Proven knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions and procedures.
• Capability to train operators on standard work and drive continuous improvement.
• Adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support your team to meet daily business unit goals.
• Ensure flawless communication, safety, quality and delivery.
• Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for new hires and current team members.
• Fill in for team members to maintain seamless production flow.
• Champion Lean principles to promote continuous improvement and waste reduction.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a behavior-based safety culture.
• Mentor on quality standards and maintain documentation.
• Ensure timely delivery by managing workflow and resolving barriers.
• Provide leadership as a backup to the Production Supervisor.
