Job Description

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Team Lead to work at our food processing facility in Lowville, NY. Successful candidates must be willing to provide improvement suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality oriented, demonstrate adaptability, and be willing to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. This position requires individuals to perform general production duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards.

  • A $1.00 shift differential for second shift and $1.25 for third shift
Work Schedule:

The schedule is based on a 7-day production week.

Plant & Community Overview:

The Lowville plant produces Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Kraft String Cheese. Built in 1971, the facility spans over 400,000 square feet with 18 production lines. Milk and cream are supplied by local farms. With over 500 employees, it is one of the largest employers in Lewis County.

Primary Function

Under the direction of the Process Owner and with management support, the employee will own results related to clean inspection, lubrication, centerline management system, 5S system, process data integrity, and Oscar scrap elimination. The employee will participate in planning, reviews, and meetings, and assist in developing standards and control strategies. They will lead root cause problem solving and coach teams on system execution and problem solving skills.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Facilitate line loss analysis and throughput improvement plans.
  • Analyze daily and shift data to identify loss elimination opportunities.
  • Participate in internal audits, food safety, and sanitary design teams.
  • Collect information on stops, changeovers, and centerlines, and investigate root causes.
  • Develop daily plans, lead meetings, and establish countermeasures.
  • Ensure centerline compliance and address outages.
  • Collaborate with Process Owner, CI Lead, and Maintenance Lead on losses.
  • Lead Daily Management Systems for centerline and quality.
  • Follow GMP, housekeeping, and QRMP procedures; assist in QRMP training.
Overall Skills and Abilities
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Metrics, ZPI.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand documentation, SOPs, OPLs, and CILs.
  • Project management skills from conception to completion.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of safety policies (e.g., lock-out/tag-out, confined space).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Ability to multi-task and supervise workflow.
  • Strong digital literacy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and participation in company committees.
