Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage a assigned production department safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal use of manpower, materials, and equipment. You will coordinate activities, set priorities, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires overseeing a team, coordinating schedules, and enforcing company policies. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Operations Management, Business or Engineering preferred.
• 5 years related experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastic industry.
• Problem solving and continuous improvement experience required.
• Experience supervising more than 10 employees required.
• Shop floor reporting system experience preferred; SAP experience advantageous; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises hourly and temporary employees in production operations and enforces rules and procedures.
• On-the-job training of employees in safe and efficient operations; promote safety compliance.
• Plan schedules to optimize manpower, machinery, and materials; manage overtime.
• Evaluate employees and make hiring, promotion, and transfer recommendations.
• Monitor safety, quality, and production standards; take corrective actions as needed.
• Report downtime, scrap, and machine performance; summarize shift data.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety prerequisites.
• Handle administrative tasks: payroll reporting, attendance, and vacation tracking.
