Job Title: Production Supervisor (Night Shift) at UFP Industries

Join us to apply for the Production Supervisor (Night Shift) role at UFP Industries.

Job Summary: The Production Department Supervisor oversees the operation of their department, ensuring alignment with cost, profit, and production goals. They are responsible for training and developing employees, using experience and judgment to plan and achieve departmental objectives. Creativity and autonomy are expected, with supervision from a manager. They develop and implement methods to meet departmental plans and goals.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage production operations across multiple departments and shifts.
  • Motivate and supervise a team of employees for optimal productivity.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve various operational problems and opportunities.
  • Evaluate employee performance and program effectiveness.
  • Coach and counsel employees.
  • Ensure activities comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management.
  • Oversee department costs and profitability.
  • Manage inventory within the department.
  • Lead initiatives in continuous improvement and safety.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records as needed.
  • Participate in Safety Committee activities and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including hazardous material handling if in the Treating Department, and possibly operate forklifts.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay starts at $25.00+, with an additional $2/hour for night shifts, depending on experience.
  • Incentive pay may include bonuses based on production, safety, and referrals, along with an annual discretionary bonus.

Qualifications:

  • Post-high school education required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, with 1-3 years in management.
  • Knowledge of production reporting, scheduling, and basic lumber knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other software.
  • Forklift license required.
