Position Title: Production Supervisor, Night Shift
Location: Windsor, CT
Description:

Our Production Supervisor supports Mativ's Sustainability and Adhesives Solutions (SAS) Function. This individual is responsible for the overall performance of the production floor, within the assigned shift. Their supervision of activities needs to result in meeting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives/goals. All activity needs to focus on improving operational performance. This role is located in Windsor, CT and reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Champion safety: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, direct employees safely, and seek opportunities to improve safe work practices.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean environment: Educate and direct personnel on equipment and resource use, ensuring compliance with policies.
  3. Ensure departmental performance: Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and appraise results.
  4. Execute production plan: Schedule and assign personnel, prioritize tasks, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and manage shift turnover.
  5. Provide coaching and discipline: Enforce policies, manage work schedules, and conduct performance reviews.
  6. Maintain quality: Understand quality requirements, identify root causes of non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
  7. Reduce waste: Perform variance analysis, identify waste sources, and implement corrective measures.
  8. Employee engagement: Conduct department meetings, foster open communication, and address production variances.
  9. Provide manufacturing data: Collect and analyze performance records, respond to inquiries.
  10. Define KPIs: Establish safety, quality, delivery, cost, scrap, and productivity goals, and update performance boards.
  11. Promote cooperation: Ensure strong daily communication between shifts.
  12. Staff development: Orient, train, cross-train employees, and conduct performance evaluations.
  13. Lead continuous improvement: Participate in 5S and other initiatives, maintain cleanliness.
  14. Assist hiring: Interview candidates and recommend hires to HR.
  15. Maintain equipment: Submit maintenance requests and evaluate new equipment and techniques.
  16. Follow shutdown procedures: Ensure weekend shutdown procedures are followed.
  17. Other duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Proven hands-on leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Leadership skills and cross-functional collaboration ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
  • ERP (SAP) system knowledge
  • LSS Greenbelt certification
