Job Overview

The Concentrate Production Supervisor’s role is to directly supervise and coordinate the daily activities of their team in the coffee concentrate manufacturing process.

Schedule

Night Shift: typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 pm - 3:30 am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production and processing of coffee, coffee concentrate, and pasteurizing/packaging.
  2. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  3. Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  4. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  5. Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues as they arise.
  6. Observe work and monitor manufacturing equipment indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  7. Partner with continuous improvement leaders to implement Lean principles and practices.
  8. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  9. Collaborate with quality team on employee training to ensure food safety and product quality requirements are followed.
  10. Conduct employee training in equipment operations, including safety procedures and ergonomics.
  11. Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  12. Lead shift start-up meetings to ensure information is relayed between shifts.
  13. Communicate employee performance expectations, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
  14. Manage employee attendance and hours worked in HR systems.
  15. Participate in planning staffing levels, assist with hiring, and onboard new employees.
  16. Interact with SAP ensuring production logs and transactions are accurate.
  17. Follow safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. 2-4 years of production supervisor experience in manufacturing.
  3. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for improving manufacturing efficiency.
  4. Knowledge of employee safety, food safety, and quality programs (HACCP, SQF).
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative management skills.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP (SAP) systems.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to reach above shoulder level, climb, balance, kneel, and bend.
  2. Use hands and fingers to assemble small objects.
  3. Be physically active for 8 hours without fatigue.
  4. Stand for 8 hours a day.
  5. Frequently lift and move 40+ pounds.
  6. Occasionally lift and move 75+ pounds.
  7. Frequently push 300-400 lbs on a rolling cart, sometimes at an incline.
