Job summary

Schweid & Sons in Carlstadt, NJ, is seeking a hands-on manufacturing supervisor to guide grinding, forming and packaging to ensure quality, safety and productivity. Qualifications

• 4+ years of supervisory experience in food packaging or processing.
• High School or GED diploma; college education preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Work in cold environment (40 degrees and below).
• Highly skilled in math.
• Ability to write and communicate concisely in English; bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and monitors Production Grind, Forming and Packaging to ensure quality and safety.
• Ensure FIFO is applied to raw materials to meet customer needs.
• Maintain adequate materials and supplies for production to avoid downtime.
• Monitor batch sheets to ensure correct materials are used and recorded.
• Oversee safety, QA cooperation, and adherence to GMPs and policies.
• Forecast upcoming needs and communicate material deficiencies to procurement.
• Manage work hours, attendance, and overtime to meet cost per pound goals.
• Coach and develop team members; onboard new employees.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe work environment.
