Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify associate and food safety concerns and initiate internal CAPA.
- Coach and mentor department leads to become supervisors.
- Investigate accidents and incidents.
- Identify quality issues and initiate external CAPA.
- Create weekly staffing requirements based on planning schedule.
- Communicate updates to department leads daily, including schedule changes, manager updates, and focus inefficiencies.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements, including process standardization and equipment or staffing adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Maintain associate accountability through disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Participate in R&D for new product development, including trail runs and route validation.
- Prepare the facility for external customer audits.
- Manage payroll activities such as attendance points, approving hours, and department transfers.
- Maintain accurate department inventory through monthly inventories.
- Validate employee work documentation and conduct daily audits on metal detection, weight checks, production reporting, material consumption, and RAF.
- Audit CCP documentation daily.
- Support new hire development through weekly follow-ups, cross-training, and effectiveness assessments.
- Coordinate with HR on documentation, payroll notices, disciplinary records, and new employee training, including policy adherence like the seven-day work week and PTO forms.
- Oversee closing batch orders, investigate pending issues, and review related documentation such as formula, specs, production summaries, pre-op forms, and quality checks.
- Supervise shift changeovers, supporting work centers and department leads with major issues.
- Assist other departments to achieve GNC priorities.
- Ensure ownership and compliance with GMPs across all areas.
- Conduct RedZone forums, huddles, and review quality checks and Tableau data; perform root cause analysis and Kaizen events; train others within RedZone.
- Monitor operating efficiencies through KPIs (daily, weekly, monthly, YTD), analyze root causes, and address major mechanic downtimes.
- Conduct reviews for new hires, 6-month, yearly, and annual performance assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree or 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to coach and train associates effectively.
- Active participation in safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Delegation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and accountability.
- Proficiency with computers and audit documentation.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and handle multitasking.
