Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor provides leadership to and directs the work of hourly personnel, including lead persons, in the egg processing facilities.
Schedule: Second Shift
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Produce the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices.
  • Recognize and resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on operations.
  • Request and direct services of maintenance, sanitation, and other personnel as necessary to achieve desired levels of production, sanitation, safety, and warehouse services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure solid work relationships.
  • Manage ingredient usage and all other department costs.
  • Keep accurate and current records (e.g., timecards, downtime, absentee records).
  • Enforce company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Encourage employee suggestions to improve production, quality, safety, and control costs.
  • Inform operations management of operating and employee issues, quality, safety, and costs.
  • Conduct employee safety training, job training, and monthly line meetings.
  • Maintain a production floor presence to support teams and eliminate barriers.
  • Maintain consistent communication and hold monthly department meetings.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, GMPs, and sanitary conditions; report conditions adversely affecting food safety, quality, or personnel safety.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Experience: 2-3 years supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry.

Other Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) is a plus.
