Job description

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Converting Production Supervisor at our Asheboro, NC Facility. The Supervisor will utilize leadership, operations experience, and communication to identify and convert improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety as a value and lead a crew of employees to exceed production expectations for the shift. The candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality. Will also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills as well as being capable of leading transformation initiatives.

The team at Asheboro specializes in the corrugator box industry where they support the self-actualization of their employees. This position provides opportunities for promotion both in Asheboro as well as many other Georgia-Pacific and Koch facilities across the country. Come join our team!

1st shift converting 7:00am – 3:00pm with additional coverage on weekends and holidays as needed.

What You Will Do
  • Lead an operating team in compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality
  • Foster a culture based on our Principle Based Management (PBM) Philosophy
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in resolution of causes
  • Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production
  • Ensure best practices are followed for minimization of waste at machine centers
  • Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production
  • Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results on a daily basis
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Three (3+) years or more of supervising employees within a manufacturing, production, industrial OR military environment
  • Previous experience coaching and developing a team
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience working in the corrugated packaging/containerboard industry
  • Experience working with KIWI application
