Position Description

Reporting to the Manager Production, the Supervisor Production is responsible for overseeing beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment, supervising personnel to meet daily production targets, and ensuring compliance with SOPs, food safety, health and safety policies, and equipment monitoring. They drive process improvements, labor reporting, and efficiency, delivering high-quality products in a cost-effective manner.


Shift: Nights, 12-hour rotation


Essential Job Functions:

  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies/procedures, GMPs, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards as per corporate, customer, and regulatory bodies (e.g., SQF).
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees.
  • Have authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct daily meetings with shift leads to identify and resolve issues.
  • Draft and post weekly employee schedules based on production requirements and communicate with the department manager regarding problems or changes.
  • Collaborate with all departments to improve quality, drive efficiencies, increase yields, and eliminate out-of-specification or damaged products. Foster a positive team environment.
  • Possess operational knowledge of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
  • Perform changeovers efficiently, ensuring correct settings and parts, and no mechanical defects.
  • Record all necessary production and quality information accurately.
  • Understand and address inquiries related to SQF and HACCP standards.
  • Read and adhere to production schedules and SOPs; communicate issues effectively.
  • Identify production or machine issues through visual and auditory cues.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct GEMBA walks through the plant.
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions with end-of-shift duties.
  • Provide training and cross-training to meet production schedules, quality, and safety standards.
  • Oversee specific plant areas if designated (e.g., blow molding).
Requirements

Competencies include continuous improvement, troubleshooting, documentation, safety and compliance, communication, training, leadership, ownership, and time management.

Education and experience require a minimum of a high school diploma or GED; a degree in Food Science, Business, or related discipline is preferred. 3-5 years in manufacturing, preferably beverages; SAP experience is a plus.

Skills include experience in fast-moving packaged goods, machinery knowledge, and shift flexibility. Forklift certification may be required.

Working Conditions

Environment involves noise, temperature extremes, and repetitive tasks. Must be attentive and detail-oriented. Schedule includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, with a minimum 75% floor presence. Requires good coordination, dexterity, and ability to handle mental stress.
