Job description

The incumbent is responsible for managing production efficiently through the direct supervision of the operations team, in order to meet the objectives of the plant, prioritizing SAFETY, QUALITY, SERVICE, and COST. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the entire facility during off shifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Supervise production and maintenance activities to ensure products meet or exceed all quality requirements. Interpret specifications and judge the acceptability of in-process production. Manage weekly schedules and daily assignments based on production priorities.
  2. Manage all department activities, including staff selection, training, reviews, discipline, and safety. Develop and maintain an effective organization through effective direction, counseling, training, and mentoring. Create IDPs to achieve short and long-term objectives.
  3. Ensure employee safety and well-being by promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture, aiming for safety records that exceed industry standards. Oversee manufacturing activities, including machines, spare parts, facilities, and repairs, to meet customer schedules within quality and cost targets.
  4. Set and communicate goals aligning with department objectives. Hold staff accountable and foster enthusiasm and cost-effective innovations among teams.
  5. Maintain technical expertise in the production process, understanding system operations and ensuring product compatibility. Measure success through on-time shipments, labor productivity, quality, and product cycle times.
  6. Understand and support Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, Pilot Projects) and Continuous Improvement initiatives related to WCM.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues, coordinating with Maintenance and Engineering support as needed.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
  1. Associate’s degree in industrial, business, or related field; BS degree preferred.
  2. At least three (3) years of manufacturing experience, preferably in Glass Mat, Paper, or Non-Woven industries.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Strong organizational skills, thoroughness, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  5. Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and solve problems effectively.
  6. Proven leadership skills to manage, motivate, and develop a team with integrity and personal example.
  7. Familiarity with Enterprise Reporting systems; SAP ERP experience preferred.
