Job summary

nVent is seeking a production leader to directly supervise manufacturing staff, providing training, direction and mentorship to improve performance while ensuring daily commitments are met. You will focus on safe, efficient operations and continuous improvement across the line.

In this role you will drive Lean initiatives, manage daily payroll processes, support new processes and product development, and develop key improvement projects that keep our operations competitive and secure for

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Workday preferred.
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • 2+ years Lean manufacturing experience; ability to apply Lean concepts.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:


  • Directly lead production employees, including training, directing, educating, and mentoring on performance.

  • Look after day-to-day production activities to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.

  • Handle daily performance through the use of process center communication boards daily.

  • Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology.

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions, and supports nVent's safety programs.

  • Review and submit payroll hours on a weekly basis, entering exception hours as needed.

  • Support new process and product development and implementation.

  • Develops key improvement projects and fulfills related duties as needed.


YOU HAVE:


  • High school diploma or equivalent experience such as G.E.D

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Workday preferred

  • Ideally 3 plus years manufacturing experience, with a preference for manufacturing leadership experience preferred

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing, with a strong ability to articulate and apply Lean concepts and methodologies.
