Job summary

nVent is seeking an Assembly Operator in Solon, OH to assemble electrical fastening products with a focus on quality and safety. You will read blueprints and work instructions, set up and operate hand and power tools, and perform regular quality checks in a light industrial environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to 5S standards, and the ability to adapt to rotating tasks while maintaining clean, organized work areas and accurate production records.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge in use of scales preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints preferred.
  • Experience assembling mechanical parts into a finished product preferred.
  • Experience using hand and power tools preferred.
  • Prior experience in a light industrial facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products according to Work Instructions and blueprints/drawings.
  • Complete regular quality checks to ensure parts meet standards.
  • Move production materials as required and maintain equipment.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and 5S standards; participate in continuous improvement.
  • Record information on Manufacturing Orders and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Notify leaders when issues arise and adapt to rotational assignments.

As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling a wide range of electrical fastening products and components including but not limited to your hands, machinery, or various hand tools. Parts will be assembled in accordance with work instructions and blueprints/drawings. It will be your responsibility to complete regular, scheduled quality checks to ensure parts are being assembled up to nVent's standards.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
  • Completes work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
  • Selects and moves production materials as required.
  • Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Meets established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Records accurate information on Manufacturing Order and performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Complies with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards.
  • Reports adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance to escalation procedure.
  • Adheres to department 5S standards daily.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed.
  • Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
YOU HAVE:
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Knowledge in use of scales, preferred

  • Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints, preferred
  • Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product, preferred
  • Experience in using hand and power tools, preferred
