Job summary

nVent is seeking a seasoned electrical supervisor to oversee journeymen and apprentices in the construction, installation, and testing of electrical components in modular buildings. You will plan wiring, inspect conformity to codes, study production schedules, and coordinate safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple departments.

A strong NEC knowledge base and leadership experience are required to ensure reliable, high-quality installations.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience or training in installation and maintenance of electrical wiring and equipment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license with strong NEC knowledge.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems through gathering and analyzing information.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, planning and delegating.
  • Ability to meet physical and environmental demands in manufacturing environment (lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

  • Plans wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, panel boards.
  • Inspects wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specs or local codes.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hours for completion.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers; assigns duties.
  • Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment and product quality.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving them.
  • Initiates plans to motivate workers to meet goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Coordinates activities with other departments; sets up machines and equipment.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised and conducts quality control testing for compliance.
  • Contributes to a workplace environment that supports pride in the product and customer focus.

You Have
  • 6+ years experience or training in the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring and equipment
  • 5+ years of leadership experience is preferred.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license required with strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems through gathering and analyzing of information. Strong analytical

  • Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands including working within a manufacturing environment, occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Frequently standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
