Job description

Our client, a regional provider of fine foods, has an immediate need for an experienced Production Supervisor, to join their winning team in Englewood.

Our candidate of choice will bring a strong baking background along with supervisory roles in a medium to large scale artisan bakery operation(s). Our ideal candidate will be communicative, organized, and motivated to work within a team to produce the finest baked goods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the second shift of production to ensure on-time completion and highest product quality of artisan baked bread and pastry
• Monitor product inventory to ensure outgoing orders are complete daily.
• Monitor ingredient inventory and liaise with the purchasing department as necessary.
• Oversee pastry and bread bakers, and prep cooks, optimizing workflow and hours for on-time completion of day’s production
• Prioritize tasks, set an example for the team. Communicate, train and when necessary, discipline staff effectively to create a pleasant, productive and safe environment
• Ensure adherence to food safety regulations including GMP, HACCP
• Collaborate with maintenance to promptly address any equipment issues to prevent downtime

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in commercial baking
• Experience with sourdough bread, laminated dough and equipment
• Basic computer competency
• Familiarity with food processing operations and sanitation practices within a manufacturing plant
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with team members at all levels and related departments
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must speak and write in English; also, Spanish is a plus
