Job summary

Cascades in Schenectady, NY, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM). You will lead third-shift teams, champion safety, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, coordinating with Maintenance and Quality, monitoring production metrics, and maintaining accurate shift documentation to sustain operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in leadership and lean continuous improvement in manufacturing.
• Packaging manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and collaborative skills to engage teams.
• Proficient in MS365 and SAP or ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Lead third-shift production teams to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and waste and improve efficiency.
• Monitor metrics, develop action plans, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Coach and develop employees, fostering engagement and accountability.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Quality to troubleshoot issues and ensure product quality.
• Conduct floor presence and audits, pursue process improvements and best practices.
• Ensure accurate shift documentation, reporting, and turnover communications.
• Manage performance through feedback, recognition, and development planning.
• Support workforce scheduling, staffing, and timekeeping for continuity.

Your Role

As Production Supervisor, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential.

Your Scope Includes

• Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and support third-shift production teams to achieve safety, quality, productivity, waste, and cost performance targets.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, eliminate waste, and enhance operational performance.
• Monitor production metrics and operating parameters, develop action plans to address performance gaps, and ensure timely follow-through on corrective actions.
• Provide coaching, training, and daily direction to employees while fostering engagement, accountability, and teamwork.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Quality teams to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, ensuring reliable operations and consistent product quality.
• Conduct routine floor presence and operational audits to identify opportunities for process improvements and sustain best practices.
• Ensure accurate shift documentation, production reporting, and communication during shift turnovers.
• Manage employee performance through regular feedback, recognition, coaching, and development planning.
• Support workforce scheduling, staffing needs, and timekeeping activities to ensure operational continuity.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or Business Administration. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Willing to work 11:00PM - 7:00AM Monday – Friday.
• 2+ years’ experience in leadership and lean continuous improvement processes in a manufacturing environment. Packaging manufacturing experience preferred.
• Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence.
• Ability to solve problems and prioritize daily tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer skills to include MS365 and SAP or ERP software.
