Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Production Service Engineer II to maintain stability, safety, and high availability of our global network infrastructure.

You will deploy critical software, metadata, and platform changes across Akamai's worldwide networks, ensuring safe and efficient execution. The role requires 2+ years of Linux/Unix administration in large-scale content-delivery environments, solid SQL and scripting skills, and a good grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, and other core networking

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience administering Linux/Unix systems in large-scale content distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploying critical software, metadata, network, and platform changes safely, accurately, and efficiently across all global networks.
• Diagnosing and resolve complex technical issues within your areas of specialty to maintain platform stability.
• Processing & Safety Improvement: Identify, design, and implement operational process improvements that maximize change safety and operational efficiency.
• Tooling & Documentation: Continuously improve internal tools, monitoring alerts, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) fostering positive cross-group relationships, isolate software/platform bugs, and long-term technical resolutions.
