Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Production Planner and Scheduler (Level 3 or 4) for the Space System unit in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on planning production schedules, coordinating with material requirements, and guiding production flow for cable assembly, machine shop, and integration.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree with 5–8+ years in planning and scheduling, proficiency with MS Office, ERP/MRP experience, and US citizenship. DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in operations planning and production scheduling (Level 3).
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in operations planning and production scheduling (Level 4).
• In lieu of degree, 4+ additional years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in MS Office Applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience planning in an ERP system and familiar with the MRP process.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Costpoint and/or SAP experience.
• CPIM- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management
• Supply Chain experience
• Manufacturing/Production line experience
• Active DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
• Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
• Coordinates inter-departmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
