Position Overview

We are hiring a Production Planner - Scheduler to join our Cleveland, Ohio team. The role involves performing material planning activities within the Production Planning function to ensure customer demand fulfillment, meeting timelines, quality standards, and cost constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Check inventory availability before confirming/releasing work orders using system queries and reports.
  2. Provide lead times to Customer Service regarding Laird Promise Date for customer demand fulfillment.
  3. Schedule production based on MRP outputs, driven by demand inputs such as sales orders, customer schedules, and forecasts.
  4. Manage inventory levels to meet customer orders effectively.
  5. Develop, improve, and monitor reporting processes and systems to control supply chain functions.
  6. Collaborate with Materials Management to optimize supply chain and logistics for on-time delivery and minimal inventory investment.
  7. Recommend improvements to supply chain processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and better delivery performance.
  8. Adhere to quality and safety standards, and work on continuous improvement of product quality, cost, delivery, and equipment reliability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college preferred.
  • At least 2 years of scheduling and planning experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in production/materials planning and MRP systems required; QAD experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of integrated manufacturing software systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
