McWane Plant & Industrial in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Production Planner to collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume environment. The role applies project management principles to plan, execute, monitor, and close production projects, using D365 to drive MRP outputs and maintain master production schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in inventory management, supply chain, project management, or warehouse management.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Working knowledge of D365 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal safety and that of team members.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service to understand demand and develop master production schedules.
• Translate forecasts into executable production plans using D365 MRP.
• Balance demand with capacity and lead times; plan inventory levels and reorder points.
• Issue daily and weekly production schedules to shop personnel and release work orders in D365.
• Monitor production progress and KPIs to meet ship dates and OTD targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
