Job summary

Cosma International is seeking a Material Scheduler to ensure timely availability of supplied material for production and maintenance. The role involves planning, forecasting, and releasing material demands while monitoring ERP systems to optimize inventory and supplier performance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency, supporting lean initiatives and continuous improvement across the plant in Birmingham, Alabama.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or associate degree in business administration or certified 2 year training program for the material scheduling profession.
• Four years verifiable work experience in same profession is acceptable in lieu of formal education.
• Knowledge of Production Planning, Inventory Control and ERP.
• Strong communication, organizational and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project & Visio)

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
• Monitor MRP (Forecasts, Stock on hand, customer demand, production schedule, inventory transactions and reject material).
• Plan, Forecast, Schedule and Release supplied material demands to meet our production requirements.
• Use ERP System (QAD) as the Primary means of creating, monitoring and communicating schedules, inventory quantities, releases and forecasts.
• Maintain proper lean inventory levels on all raw materials in accordance to process capabilities.
• Promote CMS compliance and health, safety, and environmental concerns.
