Job summary

Knape and Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Production Operator I for low-volume slide systems. You will hand assemble parts, load and unload components, perform changeovers, and conduct quality checks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes following safety procedures, handling shop orders, labeling, and inspecting parts and machinery for errors while contributing to a high-standard production line.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience and metalworking background.
• Press operating knowledge.
• Knowledge of print reading.
• Basic reading, writing, computer and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Hand assemble slide systems and parts.
• Load, unload and hand parts into the machine.
• Conduct changeovers and setups.
• Perform all quality functions and checks.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality functions.
• Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements.
• Inspect parts and machinery for errors.
