Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Production Operator I for the low volume slides line. You will hand assemble slide systems, load and unload parts, and perform changeovers and setups to keep production moving.

This role emphasizes quality and safety, with responsibilities including routine quality checks, following packing and labeling requirements, and inspecting parts and machinery for errors.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with press operations and print reading.
• Basic reading, writing, computer and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand basic English.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Hand assemble slide systems and parts
• Load, unload and hand parts into the machine
• Conduct changeovers and setups
• Perform all quality functions and checks
• Follow all safety procedures and quality functions
• Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements
• Inspect parts and machinery for errors
