Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Production Operator I to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on hand-assembling slide systems, loading parts into machines, and performing changeovers with emphasis on quality and safety.

The ideal candidate has mechanical experience, basic reading/writing/computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. while standing for long periods in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience, press operating and knowledge of print reading.
• Basic reading, writing, computer and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English.
• Ability to efficiently work in a high fast paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. while standing for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Hand assemble slide systems and parts
• Load, unload and hand parts into the machine
• Conduct changeovers and setups
• Perform all quality functions and checks
• Follow all safety procedures and quality functions
• Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements
• Inspect parts and machinery for errors
