Job summary

Kelly Services in Cincinnati, OH is seeking CNC Machinist & Brake Press Operators for first shift. The role involves operating Haas Mills and Lathes, Bridgeport mills, drill presses, and band saws to produce parts to specification.

You will read blueprints, select tooling, set tool offsets, and perform basic GibbsCam programming where applicable. Candidates should have 5–7 years in machine shop and be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 5–7 years of machine shop experience for CNC Machinist roles; at least 1 year of sheet metal fabrication for brake press.
• Familiarity with Haas controls, G & M codes, and the ability to read blueprints and procedural instructions.
• Aptitude with measuring equipment and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of CNC and manual machines, including Haas Mills, Haas Lathes, Bridgeport mills, drill presses, and band saws.
• Identify appropriate raw materials, tooling, and work-holding devices for each job.
• Use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) to ensure quality and read blueprints.
• Set tool lengths and work offsets; perform basic programming (GibbsCam a plus).
• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC press brakes, plan procedures, and select dies and tooling.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and document work accurately.

What’s a typical day as Machine Operator - CNC Machinist & Brake Press Operator? You’ll be:

• Operating a variety of CNC and manual machines, including Haas Mills, Haas Lathes, Bridgeport mills, drill presses, and band saws
• Identifying appropriate raw materials, tooling, and work-holding devices for each job
• Utilizing measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, and edge finders to ensure quality
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, job methods, and procedural instructions
• Machining parts to specification, checking your own work, and following set-up sheet instructions
• Setting tool lengths, work offsets, and performing basic programming (GibbsCam experience a plus)
• Setting up and operating multi-axis CNC press brakes, planning working procedures, and selecting dies and tooling
• Using basic hand tools, performing basic math, and documenting work efficiently
• Maintaining a clean, safe work area and following all safety and housekeeping guidelines
