Description
Summary: Responsible for a variety of tasks that require knowledge of HVAC equipment and major utility systems. Ability to progress and desire to learn of high importance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.\tPerforms routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment daily.
2.\tTroubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment as needed.
3.\tMaintains equipment with respect to bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, and lubrication.
4.\tAssist with general utilities, facilities and other work as needed.
5.\tKnowledge of computer software (CMMS) is helpful.
6.\tExpected to identify potential failures/issues and report these to the correct team members.
7.\tWorks with Ammonia Refrigeration or Boiler mechanics when necessary to complete jobs/tasks.
8.\tTrains and learns most shop equipment and machinery.
9.\tWhen needed, effectively completes bench work utilizing common hand tools.
10.\tLearns to do rudimentary pipefitting of water, steam, and air lines with steel, plastic, and copper pipe materials.
11.\tIf needed, assist upper class mechanic on major overhauls.
12.\tAttention to detail and accuracy in work required.
13.\tClear communication abilities, written and verbal.
14.\tAlways expected to work safely, identify hazards, and respond appropriately in all situations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
*\tStrong knowledge of all HVAC systems and controls required.
*\tPrevious food manufacturing experience preferred (HEPA filtration).
*\tHVAC equipment maintenance experience necessary, including electrical troubleshooting.
*\tGlycol chillers, artificial refrigerant, & ammonia refrigeration experience required.
*\tMust have a valid driver's license.
