The primary purpose of this position is to develop the electrical and mechanical skills required to progress to a Technician in the Automation roles. In this job, you will assist Mechanic IIs and IIIs to diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain Automation equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and complete appropriate documentation.
• Gain familiarization with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Obtain general knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry-accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.
• Assist other maintenance team members with duties/repairs of equipment consistent with level of experience and training.

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and electrical safety practices.
• Understanding of PLC and VFD controlled machinery.
• Proficiency in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams, including complex automated system drawings.
• Proper use of power tools and measuring devices; must provide basic hand tools.
• Ability to work at heights up to 110 ft.
• Access assets in structures using ladders (ladder weight limit 300 lbs).
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Windows.
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or Stick) is a plus.
• Knowledge of ABB/SEW drive technology is a plus.
• Experience with Machine Shop equipment is a plus.

Skills and Abilities

• Constant: seeing, hearing, sitting.
• Frequent: standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, gripping items under 20 lbs.
• Occasional: carrying and lifting items over 60 lbs.
