Job summary

RTX is seeking a production teammate for Pratt & Whitney in Michigan to cut, size and assemble advanced composites and aircraft components. You will work on state‑of‑the‑art materials, performing assembly and finishing tasks while meeting stringent quality standards and safety requirements.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, manufacturing experience or an A&P cert, and familiarity with body work, painting, welding, electronics, and composite materials.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing or an A&P certification is preferred.
• Experience with body work and painting, machine tools or composite materials (fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar).
• Experience in welding and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly and assembly of aircraft components.
• Cutting, sizing, and measuring composite materials per process sheets.
• Manipulating materials by heating to form molds.
• Fabrication of composite and metal parts with tight tolerances.
• Be a self-starter with professionalism and teamwork.
• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication; basic computer skills.

What You Will Do

• Cutting, sizing, and measuring state‑of‑the‑art composite materials in accordance with process sheet instructions.
• Disassembly and assembly of aircraft components.
• Manipulating state‑of‑the‑art materials by stretching and heating to secure material to form molds.
• Performing composite and metal fabrication as well as finishing work within extremely tight tolerances to achieve required quality requirements.
• Be a self‑starter and possess integrity and professionalism at all times.
• Demonstrate excellence working in a team environment and have proven ability and willingness to learn new tasks as required.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have basic computer skills.
• Be able to work any shift, including first, second, and the potential for third shift, as required by business need.
• Shift hours: 2nd Shift 2pm-10pm.

Work Arrangement and Onsite

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
