Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Holt, MI is seeking a skilled technician to work on advanced composite materials and aircraft components. You will cut, size and measure materials, disassemble and assemble parts, and perform fabrication and finishing to very tight tolerances within a safety‑conscious team.

A high school diploma or GED is required; A&P certification or prior manufacturing experience is preferred. This is an onsite, second‑shift position (2pm–10pm) with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Cutting, sizing, and measuring state of the art composite materials in accordance with process sheet instructions.
• Disassembly and assembly of aircraft components.
• Manipulating state of the art materials by stretching and heating to secure material to form molds.
• Performing composite and metal fabrication as well as finishing work within extremely tight tolerances to achieve required quality requirements.
• Be a self-starter and possess integrity and professionalism at all times.
• Demonstrate excellence working in a team environment and have proven ability and willingness to learn new tasks as required.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have basic computer skills.
• Be able to work any shift, including first, second, and the potential for third shift, as required by business need.
• 2nd Shift Hours are 2pm-10pm.

Qualifications You Must Have

• HS Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in manufacturing environment or completed A&P certification.
• Experience with body work and painting, machine metal and hand tools or with composite materials, including fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar
• Experience in welding and electronics
