Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Production Manager in Conyers, GA, to lead safety-first manufacturing operations for a multi-shift footprint of about 280 team members. You will manage a team of 5 Production Supervisors, optimize labor allocation, and ensure on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires strong Lean/Six Sigma experience, ERP/MRP (SAP/Oracle/Plex), and excellent people leadership in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing), Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years hands-on manufacturing leadership experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5–7 years leadership in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing 200+ headcount and leading supervisors/leads.
• Lean Manufacturing: Lean, Six Sigma, or TPS (Toyota Production System).
• ERP/MRP systems proficiency: SAP, Oracle, Plex, MES; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Safety Culture Lead by example; promote a Safety First, Production Second mindset.
• Encourage reporting of near-misses, hazards, and injuries without fear.
• Embed safety into daily production rhythm; emphasize safety in shift handovers and huddles.
• Own the Schedule; coordinate daily/weekly manufacturing schedules for on-time delivery; anticipate bottlenecks.
• Drive Workforce Management; monitor headcount and flex labor across zones to optimize utilization.
• Lead 5 Production Supervisors; ensure effective handovers and floor-level performance.
• Oversee Labor Planning: hours, overtime, absenteeism, seasonal staffing for ~260-person team.
• Support OpEx with Standard Work, Leader Standard Work, Tier Accountability; Kaizen events.
• Collaborate on area transformations for plant restructuring or new product introductions.
• Foster Stop-and-Fix culture; empower operators to halt line for defects.
