Job summary

Future Form Manufacturing in Sparks, NV is seeking a Production Manager to lead a team of leads and supervisors and drive manufacturing efficiency, quality, and profitability. Qualifications

• BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or Business Administration or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented company.
• Minimum of 3 years experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
• Strong knowledge of all facets of precision sheet metal manufacturing.
• Strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Strong blueprint knowledge including flat pattern layout knowledge.
• Strong ability to counsel team members and to coach and train.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
• Ability to trust people to work smart.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for production personnel including leads and supervisors; coach and support, providing performance feedback on an ongoing basis.
• Assess shop equipment and automation needs with the Director of Operations; research and provide sound recommendations.
• Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs to guide profitability.
• Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures to maintain high standards of quality.
• Effectively resolve customer concerns and issues with internal contacts.
• Work with Director of Operations on major projects (plant layout changes, capital equipment installation, major repairs).
• Participate in planning, using expertise for smooth job flow.
• Utilize problem solving techniques for various manufacturing functions.
• Identify, implement changes to improve productivity, reduce cost and scrap, monitor rework data.
• Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
• Communicate and implement all policies and procedures of Future Form Manufacturing.
• Oversee Sheet Metal, Weld, Paint, and Shipping teams; provide direction and feedback.
• Assess shop staffing needs and coordinate with leads and Administration.
• Represent Future Form Manufacturing positively in internal and external contacts.
• Participate in corporate business planning and administration.
• Maintain ISO 9001 system compliance per Quality Manual and procedures.
• Participate in Lean activities and in sales/marketing efforts.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
