Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is seeking a Production Manager in Geismar, LA to lead cylinder processing and filling operations. The role focuses on meeting production goals, safety, and quality metrics while coordinating a shift of processors and operators.

The ideal candidate has management experience, understands safety regulations (OSHA/EPA/DOT/FDA), and can supervise forklift activities. A HS diploma is required, with a preference for engineering/operations degrees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 6 plus years of relevant industry experience.
• Two years of prior demonstrated management or leadership experience.
• Valid U.S. employment authorization; no visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• 120 hours of UTT Level II training and UE Certification within 6 months of employment.
• Knowledge of safety programs: OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDA and related regulations.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to read and comprehend all written and computer generated documentation and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cylinder testing operations and sorting of scrapped cylinders and spare parts.
• Direct filling operations according to the production plan; ensure safe startup/stop procedures and monitor filling parameters.
• Monitor parameters, perform tests, and ensure quality and production efficiency.
• Act as first responder in emergencies and initiate safety procedures; inform management of issues.
• Handle cylinders: unloads, sorts, tests dates, and prepares for filling; manage full cylinder orders and forklift activity for secondary distribution.
• Foster a culture of safety, ensure protective equipment use and adherence to quality procedures.
• Document daily production data, incident reports, and maintain SOPs, P&IDs, PFDs and other technical docs.
• Participate in process improvement by identifying risks and proposing safety/productivity changes.
