Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking a Production Manager for Food Manufacturing at Tiffin University to lead a large production and packaging operation. You will mentor supervisors, drive efficiency improvements, and ensure SQF compliance while maintaining strong costs control.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, food safety collaboration, and adherence to GMP/SOP standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing a food production and packaging facility.
• ServSafe cert and HACCP understanding preferred.
• Experience with R/D.
• FDA and State Inspection experience.
• Understanding of department production flows.
• Mechanical understanding of food production and packaging equipment preferred.
• SOP, SSOP and GMP understanding.
• Ability to interact with all involved in the food safety inspection process.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a large food production and packaging facility, producing fresh food and bakery products and providing service to 50 branches in 8 states.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors.
• Maintain and strive to improve efficiency standards.
• Comply with SQF standards.
• Demonstrate a full understanding of culinary practices and hold production team members accountable for using proper portion control methods and techniques.
• Control food and labor cost.

Requirements

• 7 or more years of experience managing a food production and packaging facility
• ServSafe Certification and HACCP understanding is a plus
• Experience with R/D
• FDA and State Inspection experience
• Understanding of department production flows
• Intermediate mechanical understanding of food production & packaging equipment is a plus
• Excellent time management skills and ability to focus on details
• A full understanding of weights and measures
• Understanding of S.O.P., S.S.O.P, and G.M.P.
• Ability to interact and work with all involved in the food safety inspection process
