Jobtailor in Santa Ana, CA seeks a seasoned Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead production and assembly teams, drive KPI targets, and deliver safe, high-quality products on schedule. You will coordinate with Safety, Engineering, and Supply Chain, develop schedules, manage resources, and mentor staff while fostering Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen practices.

A Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in manufacturing with 5+ years in leadership are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in manufacturing operations in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum five years of management experience.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with marine class societies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP software, and Project Management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently, be detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for manufacturing and distributing pumps and turbo expander products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage production and assembly teams and activities.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor production groups to meet safety, quality, schedule, volume, cost, and loss targets.
  • Liaise with Safety, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, and other support groups.
  • Develop production schedules, manage change, and allocate labor and capital resources.
  • Drive KPIs across production and assembly areas.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, to high quality standards, within budget and deadlines.
  • Provide team leadership during change and production ramp-up.
  • Optimize efficiency, resource utilization, cost performance, working capital, and waste.
  • Develop a continuous-improvement culture using Lean Six Sigma, GMP, 5S, and Kaizen principles.
  • Build and mentor production teams through strategic, tactical, and operational leadership.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, EHS, QC, and other departments.
  • Communicate technological changes and supply impacts, and recommend solutions.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and communicate manufacturing impacts.
  • Oversee precision manufacturing and assembly, production control, material management, manufacturing engineering, tools and equipment maintenance, workplace 5S and lean practices, training, mentoring, quality, and workmanship.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, manufacturing, industrial or related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in manufacturing operations in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment
  • Minimum five years of management experience
  • Understanding of and familiarity with marine class societies is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, MRP/ERP software, and Project Management software

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of resources
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
