Job summary

Amarr, a manufacturing leader, seeks an experienced operations executive to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives on the shop floor in Mocksville, NC. You will coach supervisors, plan staffing and training, and champion Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across cross‑functional teams.

The role requires 5–10 years of leadership in manufacturing, a strong culture of accountability and inclusion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience including safety, quality, and team development.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and foster an inclusive, respectful workplace.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Operational Excellence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
  • Green Belt certification.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Establish performance expectations and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Monitor operational performance and foster ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Empower team members to identify opportunities, solve problems, and contribute to operational improvements.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate Operations Supervisors.
  • Develop staffing, training, and retention plans.
  • Foster a culture of caring, transparency, engagement, collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Mentor and develop future leaders through coaching, growth opportunities, succession planning, and feedback.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment and employee involvement in decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe work practices and employee well-being.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive sustainable improvements in productivity, efficiency, and manufacturing capability.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to achieve plant objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage labor, material, and controllable costs to support budget and profitability goals.

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for production, safety, quality, and team development
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing people, fostering employee engagement, and creating an inclusive and respectful workplace culture
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, inspire teams, and build trust while achieving operational results
  • Experience promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, quality, and employee empowerment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational performance through problem solving, decision making, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing business systems
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while achieving business objectives
  • Green Belt certification
  • Experience commissioning new equipment and supporting startup activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with outside vendors, system integrators, and equipment OEMs
  • Ability to document controls standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule when necessary, including potential for nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing more than 45 lbs. using team lifting procedures
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (8-12 hours per shift)
  • Ability to safely move throughout the manufacturing floor
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and/or ladders as required for job tasks
  • Ability to use hands, wrists, and fingers for handling materials, writing, and computer work
  • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, tablets, scanners, or handheld devices
  • Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced industrial environment
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environmental conditions
