Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee multiple production areas in a regulated manufacturing setting in Bothell, WA. You will lead teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure throughput, quality, and cost targets are met.

The role requires overseeing shift-based production, coordinating with engineering, planning, purchasing, quality, and R&D, and optimizing labor and equipment utilization.

Job description

• Manage multiple production areas to meet throughput, quality, and cost objectives
• Take ownership of product responsibilities and drive customer value growth
• Select, develop, coach, and evaluate personnel
• Direct and coordinate production-area activities
• Prioritize production schedules based on new product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials availability
• Support on-time delivery of customer backlog
• Make budgetary recommendations for capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor
• Develop schedules and manpower requirements
• Implement and drive Supply Chain business improvement initiatives
• Lead and coach teams in a Continuous Improvement (Lean) culture
• Serve as primary point of contact for the product line
• Interface with Production Engineering, Supply Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D
• Troubleshoot product and process problems to root cause
• Establish a leadership pipeline within staff
• Participate in quality improvement teams
• Manage ultrasound production lines, related processes, and staff across two shifts
• Support off-shift or weekend operations as required

Requirements

• BS degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience, including coaching, motivating others, and handling performance management issues
• Experience managing diverse multifunctional organizations
• Ability to align direct labor and supervisory employees around common objectives
• Proven accountability to performance measures
• Experience training, coaching, motivating, evaluating, and managing team performance
• General knowledge of Kanban, OEE, 5S, and Kaizen rapid improvement teams
• Knowledge of lean techniques and principles to improve flow and reduce waste
• Experience managing labor and equipment constraints
• Knowledge of mathematics and basic statistics
• Experience managing evening or weekend shifts is a plus
• Working knowledge of inventory control, warehousing, picking functions, and/or Oracle ERP is a plus
• Working knowledge of production and change controls in a regulated environment, such as ISO/GMP/FAA
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including manufacturing documentation and reporting
• Thorough understanding of MS Excel for statistics, reports, and labor models
• Ability to communicate and work with cross-functional teams across multiple shifts
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Flexibility to work various shifts as required
• Ability to lift 25 lbs with or without accommodations
