Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the Production Department in day-to-day manufacturing operations in Ohio. The role focuses on maintaining equipment performance, product quality, and timely delivery while guiding a shift and acting as a technical resource.

Key responsibilities include coordinating schedules, training Associates, conducting performance reviews, and driving safety and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; experience may qualify.
• Five years' production/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Three years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent computer/systems skills - MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook)
• Excellent cooperation and collaboration skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant
• Ability to supervise, coach and develop Associates
• Ability to interact well with all personality types in a supervisory role

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Production Department and ensure day-to-day execution of production activities
• Ensure consistent operation of equipment and processes and delivery of products meeting customer objectives and expectations
• Directly supervise the designated shift and act as a technical resource
• Rotate between shifts as needed
• Schedule the department to meet production and shipment schedules
• Oversee safety, on-time delivery, quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, and product timeliness
• Participate in cross-functional teams as a production representative to reduce variance
• Participate in and engage in continuous improvement projects across the organization
• Travel to other locations or customers as required
• Perform other projects or tasks assigned by Management

Job description

• Provide leadership to the Production Department and ensure day-to-day execution of production activities
• Ensure consistent operation of equipment and processes and delivery of products meeting customer objectives and expectations
• Directly supervise the designated shift and act as a technical resource
• Rotate between shifts as needed
• Ensure Associates are trained for their roles
• Direct and complete Associate performance reviews
• Oversee safety, on-time delivery, quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, and product timeliness
• Verify daily labor times
• Participate in cross-functional teams as a production representative to reduce variance
• Participate in, promote, and actively use Lean Manufacturing principles
• Initiate actions to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Assist with work-related accident reports and investigations
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and regulations
• Schedule the department to meet production and shipment schedules
• Participate in and engage in continuous improvement projects across the organization
• Travel to other HEXPOL locations or customers as required
• Perform other projects or tasks assigned by Management

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of education
• Five (5) years' production/manufacturing experience preferred
• Three (3) years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent computer/systems skills - MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook)
