Job Summary

Tusk Molding is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for all aspects of supervising plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality control, as well as understanding, meeting, or exceeding all internal and external customer needs. The role aims to establish streamlined and efficient operations that support all aspects of the company's operations. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying areas for improvement, opportunities for growth, development, and innovation, as well as setting and continually improving standards. This position is also responsible for communicating effectively and in a timely manner, keeping upper management, department heads, team leaders, and employees informed of all pertinent manufacturing and production information.

What You'll Do:

• Production Management & Optimization
• Direct and coordinate plant operations to meet production goals and customer demand.
• Establish and enforce manufacturing procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Leverage expertise in rotational molding or related processes to troubleshoot and optimize production.
• Quality Assurance & Technical Support
• Ensure all products meet internal and external quality standards.
• Promote a culture of quality throughout the facility.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Respond promptly to customer complaints with effective cross-department communication.
• Provide hands-on technical support and problem-solving during production.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop the production team to achieve operational goals.
• Manage performance reviews, KPIs, and professional development.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, evaluations, and discipline as needed.
• Foster open, effective communication across all levels of the organization.
• Operational Excellence
• Ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, clean, and tour-ready condition.
• Implement and enforce workplace safety programs and regular training.
• Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term operational plans to support company growth.
• Collaborate with other departments for seamless coordination in purchasing, inventory, quality, and shipping.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in plant manufacturing leadership, with a preference for experience in rotational molding or other plastic molding processes.
• Proven ability to lead and develop production staff at all manufacturing levels.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Proven track record in production scheduling, logistics, and ensuring on-time delivery.
• Experience in developing and maintaining strong quality systems and standards.
• Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
• Proven critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering encompasses applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to design and produce various goods and services.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

• Plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Office environment with standard climate control.
• Requires occasional stooping, bending, stretching, and standing for extended periods.
• Lifting up to 50 – 70 pounds occasionally.
  
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Adequate manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer work and documentation.
• Normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities for effective communication.
