Position Details

- Reports To: Regional Director
- Direct Reports: 3-5 depending on region and territory
- Location: Applicants should reside in the Western MO region (around St. Joseph, MO) or be willing to relocate. This is a remote home office position.
Position Overview
JBS Live Pork has an opening for a Remote Production Manager in Western Missouri (Tarkio, MO and Marshall, MO), reporting to Dan Sprague, Live Pork Regional Director. This role is accountable for all production activities at assigned sow production facilities within the region.
Essential Functions
- Focus on reducing costs and increasing throughput.
- Support the field manager or manage operations in their absence.
- Execute budgets for production output, expenses, and capital spending.
- Communicate production status and improvement plans to the Regional Director.
- Facilitate adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead change through education and inspection until new habits are established.
- Manage the actions of direct reports.
- Coordinate responses to audits related to safety, maintenance, biosecurity, and production.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely upkeep of facilities.
- Maintain data integrity in production record systems.
- Ensure product quality meets specifications and quality control standards.
- Update and improve Sow Farm Manual and SOPs as needed.
- Train new employees on SOPs, biosecurity, and safety, documenting progress.
- Participate actively in safety programs and enforce safety policies.
- Coordinate animal movements, including transport of gilts and sales of weaned pigs.
- Report environmental measures accurately and communicate environmental concerns.
- Oversee feed management, including ordering and bin management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met.
Required Job Qualifications
- BS/BA in Agriculture or related field, with 5+ years in commercial swine production.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid MVR.
- Extensive knowledge of sow records and related software.
- PQA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Working Conditions
- Ability to work safely in physically demanding environments, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking through pens, etc.
- Capable of working in extreme temperatures and environments with odors, dust, and gases.
- Regular travel, including up to 20% overnight stays.
- On-call availability 24/7, excluding vacations.
