Role Overview

PIC, a Genus PLC company, has an exciting opportunity to deliver successful commercialization of our PRRS Resistant Pig. We are looking for a Technical Production Manager responsible for leading supply chain activities supporting production planning, inventory tracking, product dissemination, and on-farm development and implementation of our QMS program (PIC Quest). The role involves coordinating the initial supply and dissemination of PRP breeding stock and semen to ensure quality and availability.

The successful candidate will develop relationships with key partners, develop, communicate, implement, and monitor processes across multiple sites, and work in a diverse, fast-paced environment. The role requires autonomy, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication and organizational skills.

This position is remotely based in the Midwest region of the United States.

You Will

• Ensure FDA compliance of the EVERTHRIVE – PRP production through development, oversight, and implementation of the PIC QUEST Quality System Management program.
• Interact with the Global Supply Chain Logistics group to ensure accurate and timely exports of breeding stock to global markets.
• Ensure compliance and reporting related to SOPs for producing EVERTHRIVE – PRP pigs.
• Participate in contract negotiations and develop strategies for growth and partnership expansion.
• Create processes among internal functions and outside suppliers.
• Develop systems to maximize utilization of products produced by contract multipliers and SLNs.
• Collaborate with relevant functions to ensure support services delivery.
• Stay current in the field through networking, literature, and industry meetings.
• Maintain proficiency in new production technologies and practices.
• Travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in animal sciences, biotechnology, or related fields.
• At least five years’ experience in intensive swine production, including animal husbandry, management, and technical writing.
• Experience with implementing SOPs via a QMS approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
• Ability to maintain biosecurity standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in research, genetic testing, or FDA animal health requirements.
• Experience developing SOP-based practices.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
