Job summary

OPW, a Dover Corporation business, seeks a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing activities in our Ball Ground, GA facility. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while coordinating with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to meet customer commitments.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to read fabrication drawings and follow weld procedures. Experience in a schedule-driven plant is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, drawings, and quality requirements.
• Experience leading production teams in a schedule-driven environment with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity accountability.
• AWS certification or equivalent preferred but not required for all roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets.
• Execute daily/weekly production schedule and manage recovery actions for misses.
• Plan and allocate labor based on requirements, constraints, and priorities; manage overtime within guidelines.
• Lead daily production and tier meetings; review performance and escalate issues.
• Monitor and improve KPIs: safety, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, first-pass yield, rework, scrap, backlog.
• Identify constraints and coordinate with QA, Engineering, and Maintenance for timely resolution.
• Ensure adherence to standard work, drawings, specs, welding procedures, and safety requirements.
• Develop training and qualification records; implement cross-training plans for flexibility.
• Coach employees and manage performance, attendance, and conduct per policy.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering for root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement via standard work, 5S, visual management, waste elimination, Kaizen.
