Job summary

OPW is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily production activities in a safe and efficient manner. You will translate the production plan into execution, supervise staff, and coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to meet customer commitments.

The role emphasizes developing workforce capability, managing labor and overtime, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity within a welding-focused fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience leading production teams in a schedule-driven manufacturing environment with accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, and quality requirements; AWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets.
• Execute the daily and weekly production schedule and maintain accountability for schedule attainment; recover when commitments are missed.
• Plan and allocate labor based on requirements, constraints, and priorities; manage staffing and overtime within guidelines.
• Lead daily production and tier meetings; review performance and escalate issues.
• Monitor and improve KPIs including safety, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, first-pass yield, and waste.
• Identify constraints, material shortages, equipment issues, quality concerns; coordinate with support functions for resolution.
• Ensure workers follow standard work, drawings, instructions, welding procedures, and safety rules.
• Conduct skills assessments and maintain training records; develop cross-training plans.
• Coach employees and manage performance, attendance, and development per policy.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and flow improvements.
• Ensure welding equipment and measurement tools are maintained and calibrated.
• Maintain records of production, labor, training, certification, and quality data.
• Promote proactive safety culture and succession planning.
• Other duties may be assigned.
