About the Opportunity
- Job Title: Production Lead/Supervisor
- Pay Rate Range: $27.00-$29.00/hr
- Location: Saint Paul, MN
- Schedule: 1st Shift Monday–Friday 6:30AM-3PM with optional overtime.
- Position Type: Temp to Hire
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School or Equivalent.
- 10 years of senior operator or lead operator experience preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and products.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lead a team of production employees.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to plan and work independently.
- Strong organization and technical skills.
- Understanding of inventory management and procedures related to inventory.
Experience
- Small parts assembly (Hand tools, benchtop work, etc.).
- Electronics experience.
- Soldering experience (hand soldering, through hole and surface mount components).
- Wire harness experience (Cutting, stripping, ultrasonic welding, applying pins and connectors, looming. Troubleshooting.)
- Experience with NetSuite for work order and inventory management.
- Computer skills.
- Management/supervisory experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee assigned work centers:
- Issue work orders, provide parts for production, and ensure inventory is correct and organized, including shipping and receiving if needed.
- Ensure inventory control processes & procedures are followed.
- Ensure compliance with work instructions and safety requirements.
- Ensure quality - perform any inspection required by work center.
- Coordinate with Planner and Production Manager to prioritize work orders.
Supervise personnel:
- Train work center team to perform assembly tasks within run time and within quality standards.
- Assign tasks to production team members and manage workloads, coordinate staffing in case of absences.
- Assist in managing employee behavior and concerns, resolving disputes and challenges, and coordinate with Production Manager about conflicts and discipline.
- Ensure work is completed on time, correctly, and safely.
Recommend Improvements:
- Inform Production Manager about staffing challenges and make suggestions for improvements.
- Highlight procedure challenges and recommend suggestions.
- Provide feedback to manager and engineering about improvements, challenges, and procedures.
Assist other work centers:
- Answer questions and coordinate work to support other departments.
- Provide insight into fitment/use/configuration of parts and assemblies.
- Look up drawings and/or work orders as needed to support other departments.
- Perform first-line troubleshooting.
- Ensures work area is clean and organized.
- Additional duties as assigned or required.
